What is a Crochet Along?
Have you ever participated in a crochet along before? If you havenโt done a CAL before (or even heard of one) let me give you the basics. Essentially, a crochet along (CAL) is an event where you crochet along with other people who are all making the same project. Each part of the pattern is released bit by bit, and everyone works at roughly the same pace. Crocheters from all around the world come together in the Juniper & Oakes Facebook group to share our progress and inspire each other!

Collaborative Crochet Alongs
Sometimes, several different designers work together to create one project, like an afghan or a collection of Christmas ornaments. Together, we create something none of us could have even imagined on our own! For you, the crocheter, itโs also a fun way to discover new designers and try out different styles.
Because of the nature of collaborative CALs, you may need to jump from one site to the next to find the free patterns for each section or square. BUT most of these have accompanying PDF eBooks. So if you’d like to have the whole pattern in one place, ad free, you can always purchase the eBook!
Whether you visit each blog post or purchase the eBook, you’re supporting your favorite designers and allowing us to keep bringing you fabulous new patterns. We always appreciate when share you project photos and tag us on social media too!
