Skill Level:
Intermediate
Materials:
Yarn: Scraps of worsted weight yarn in 1 color. I used Furls Wander 100% Acrylic,
- Hook: H/8 – 5.00 mm
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- 2.65 inch plastic bauble ornament
Gauge:
Not essential for this pattern. Simply adjust hook size or bauble size if too big or small
Finished Size:
Fits a 2.65” diameter plastic bauble ornament.
Stitch Abbreviations (US Terminology):
- ch – Chain
- dc – Double Crochet
- dec – Decrease
- mc – Magic Circle
- sc – Single Crochet
- sk – Skip
- sl st – Slip Stitch
- yo – Yarn Over
Special Stitches:
Moss Stitch: Stitch pattern made when working up this ornament. Essentially each round is a *sc, ch1* repeat. The sc are worked in the ch-1 space of the previous round, and the sc of the previous round is skipped over with ch-1.
Pattern Notes:
- This pattern is worked in the round, turning prior to starting each round.
- The sc sts are worked into the ch-1 space, then skip over the sc with a ch 1.
- Test fit with the ornament throughout. If you find the bauble is too tight or too loose, then adjust your hook size accordingly. If you tend to have loose tension when you crochet, you may need to go down a hook size to make this bauble, or simply buy a bigger bauble to make your finished size.
