Soft & Fluffy Faux Fur Crochet Christmas Stocking – Free Pattern
The Soft & Fluffy Stocking can be filled with treasures & love this holiday season! This richly textured Christmas stocking, with faux fur cuff, toe, and heel is a free crochet pattern that makes a beautiful addition to your mantel or a cherished gift.

This faux fur crochet Christmas stocking pattern is BIG on texture. It uses two different types of yarn, provide lots of contrast and visual interest!
First, you’ll make the body of the stocking in worsted weight acrylic yarn, with half double crochet clusters for a simple but gorgeous texture. Then, you’ll add the cuff, toe, and heel in faux fur yarn. This yarn makes its own fluffy texture, so you’ll be working the fur parts of the stocking in basic single crochet.
Both of these textures are so squishy and soft! Together, they’re the perfect cozy pairing to add a warm, inviting touch to your home.

The Yarn
For my stocking, I used two different yarns from Lion Brand: Vannaโs Choice for the body of the stocking and Go for Faux (faux fur yarn) for the cuff, heel, and toe.
Vannaโs Choice is an affordable 100% acrylic yarnโa standard acrylic, but one of the softer brands. It comes in over 30 different colors so you can customize to match your holiday decor.
Go for Faux is a soft, fluffy, super bulky weight faux fur yarn. When working with fur yarn , it can be hard to see your stitches. Feel free to go crazy with the stitch markersโeven using one in each stitch if you have toโso you know where to insert your hook. And if you do make mistakes, that’s OK! The texture of the yarn will hide them.
This faux fur crochet Christmas stocking pattern uses only one skein of each yarn, so it would also make an excellent stash-busting project!

The Hook
I used a J/6.0 mm hook for the body of the stocking and an M/8.0mm hook for the faux fur parts. Pay close attention to the sizing of the hook in millimeters, as the diameter of size M hooks can vary from one brand to another. Ultimately, use whatever hook is comfortable for you and gives you the right gauge.
I really like these ones from Furls Crochet. These Streamline Hooks feel fabulous in my hand. They have a smooth finish and the just yarn glides right over them. I use my Furls hooks all the time and definitely recommend you try one for yourself!
