Harlow Wall Hanging – FREE Crochet Pattern
This weekend my husband and I closed on our first house! We are home owners! Now we need to get busy making ourself feel at home.

The color story for our home is blue, gray, whicker and plants. I think you’ve sensed that by looking at all of my product photos. I like to keep my colors simple so that when I go to buy or make a new piece for my home, I know what will fit in and what won’t. I know buying something navy or whicker will more than likely not clash with my decor. But adding something red, will definitely stand out, and not in a good way!
I usually buy my home decor at thrift stores and garage sales. I like unique pieces rather than mass produced items from a department store. I also make my own home decor with YARN! And because you know I love wall hangings, I have made up a new wall hanging and just launched a the pattern to go along with it called the Harlow Wall Hanging crochet pattern.
(This pattern is also available in an ad-free printable .PDF file for only $3.50. It can be downloaded instantly from Etsy or Ravelry.)
The Harlow Wall Hanging got its name randomly. I was trying to thing of a name for it while watching SNL with my husband one night, and Ben Harlow was the musical guest. I didn’t feel any particular connection with the music, but I felt like Harlow was a great name for this wall hanging. Haha!

Notes
US Terminology
When the row begins with ch 1, it does not count as a st.
- When changing colors, drop the previous color so the tail hangs on the WS, and pick it back up the next row. Watch this video for example.
- At the start of Row 21 you will do a color change. Watch this video for example if you are unsure how this color change is done.
Row 21 also requires carrying the strand of Color A for 5 stitches. If you are unsure how to carrying yarn as you go, watch this video.
The wall hanging pattern is written so that the side facing the room is textured, if you would prefer to show the more untextured side of the wall hanging, switch the RS & WS row labels.
Special Stitches
This pattern uses single crochet (sc) stitches worked up in alternate rows of front loop only (FLO) and back loop only (BLO). Working up the rows in this way makes one side really textured and the other side more smooth.
