Pattern Notes
- Ch 2 at the beginning of a round does not count as a stitch.
- Ch 3 at the beginning of a round does count as a dc.
- Work your fptr stitches loosely so the square doesn’t bunch up in the middle of each side
- For Rounds 5 & 7, work the fptr cable in the stitches 2 rows below.
- There is a video tutorial for this square. click here to view.
- If you tend to have loose tension when you crochet, you may need to go down a hook size or choose a light worsted weight yarn to make this an 8″ square.
- Crocheting this up in a lighter colored yarn would really make the texture of the cables pop.

Dear Erin,
I’m so sad.
I should like learn from you the base of Mosaic crochet.
I should like to see your tutorial – but it’s wasn’t too good for an inexperienced person then me.
I saw only the big grey cloth on the screen but your hand with the yarn was on the base of the screen – so it wasn’t good for me at all.
I’m so sorry.
Your patterns are very beautiful – but I never will learn them.
Yours embittered
Marianne
