The Granny Stitch Sampler Blanket Crochet Along 2022
The Mosaic Granny Square was featured in the Granny Stitch Sampler CAL in October 2022. This was a crochet-a-long hosted by MadameStitch.
The idea behind it was to crochet up 12 different square featuring the Granny Stitch – each section designed by a different designer.
Because I was deep into designing the Nordic Star CAL while creating my square, of course I had to do a mosaic themes granny square.
All of the patterns will be free on the designers’ blog, but if you prefer to download the PDF, you can purchase the pattern bundle.
Don’t have time to make it now? Pin it for later!
Do you like mosaic crochet?
Then you’ll love the Nordic Star Blanket! Embark on a crochet journey to create a stunning heirloom blanket.
Designed for adventurous beginners, this CAL uses overlay mosaic crochet to craft intricate colorwork designs without the hassle of yarn tangling or endless ends to weave in.

Front Loop Only Granny Stitch (FLOGS)
A Granny Stitch is 3 dc worked in the same stitch/space, so a FLOGS is 3 FLOdc worked in the same front loop of the stitch 2 rows below.

Pattern Notes
- Stitches between *asterisks* are repeated on each side of the square.
- Stitches between (parenthesis) are worked in the same stitch.
- The ch 1 at the start of each round does not count as a stitch.
- Pattern is worked in the round. Each round (except Round 1) begins with the corner sts.
- The corner stitches are worked into the BLO of the ch 1 of the corner in the row below.
- Carry the unworked yarn under the first BLOsc of each round, then drop the unworked yarn to the wrong side of the work and continue working.
- Every FLOGS counts as 3 stitches, so when finding where to place the next stitch, makes sure 3 BLOsc sts are skipped.
- The single FLOdc worked just before & after the corners are worked into the same ch st. (See Rounds 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19.)
- A chart for this pattern is included as well.
