Is your New Year’s Resolution to be more organized? Mine is!
… but I think I make that my goal every year and never stick to it.
This year I am trying to find simple ways to clear some clutter and be organized in the little things. It can be easy to get overwhelmed by how big of an undertaking it is to go from messy, clutter-filled house to KonMarie-level organization! And you know I love a good crochet project, so let me introduce you to these Simple Bobble Baskets.

Remember when I received my happy yarn mail from Darn Good Yarn? If not, you can read the post here.
Well… here I am to share my first pattern using Darn Good Yarn. I first shared this pattern as a two-part video tutorial on TikTok.
I have been meaning to clear up some clutter in my house by using baskets to gather loose change and those nomadic crochet hooks, so I whipped up a couple of baskets using DGY’s Renaissance Bloom Cotton Blend Yarn. DGY supplied me with this yarn in exchange for the use of their product in one of my projects.
Wouldn’t you like to make one of these baskets for yourself? Or maybe you’d like to sell them at your next craft market? Are they still having these where you live? I sure hope so!
If you purchase their yarn or other products, make sure you tag them on social media to help spread their reach! Use these hashtags: #darngoodyarn, @darngoodyarn, #mydgy , #dodarngood.
I have included the patterns to make both baskets so you do not have to choose between a crochet hook basket or the smaller coin/catch-all basket. You can make these baskets bigger or smaller quite easily as well.
Crochet Stashbusting Challenge 2022
This pattern was featured in the second week of the 2022 Crochet Stashbusting Challenge. A group of crocheters and I put together a roundup of some crochet patterns that will allow us (and other makers) to use up the stash of yarn we have around the house.

Magic Circle
Used when starting round crochet projects.
Loop yarn around fingers.
Insert hook underneath strand on right, grab strand on left, pull up a loop, and twist.
Grab yarn on left again and pull through the loop.
(This completes the slip knot of magic circle, continue on with pattern as written).
Ch 1.
Work sc in center of ring.
Pull end to close the circle.
Sl st to close.
Now ready for Round 2 of pattern.
Pattern Notes
US Terminology
When the row begins with ch 1, it does not count as a st.
Work the stitches between the *asterisks*, then repeat as specified.
You can make the baskets larger or smaller by adding more stitches in your foundation round and by adding more rounds to the end of the pattern before adding the bobbles.
For stability, I easily slipped a small soup can in my crochet hook basket so it wouldn’t fall over when it was full of hooks.
