Darn Good Yarn Unboxing Video
Lately, I have been having some fun making videos on TIKTOK. Are you on TikTok? You should follow me @juniperandoakes. It’s so much fun!
Although I do have a lot of fun on there, sometimes I think it is a waste of time, because does it really help my business? But then, in the same week TWO major things happened (major for my tiny little business anyway).

- After watching THIS video, another crocheter on TIKTOK found my pattern and crocheted her own Heart in a Basket Wall Hanging and made a video about it. WHAT?! Does this mean I’m TIKTOK famous?
- I was contacted by Darn Good Yarn on TIKTOK saying they love my account and asked if I was interested in receiving some FREE yarn to make a project to share on TIKTOK.
Umm… Free yarn? YES PLEASE!
Especially when that free yarn comes from a company that creates and sells products that are good for our planet (reducing impact on the environment and empowering hard working people) and allows fiber artists to create our own environmentally-friendly crafts.
I was so excited when my Darn Good Yarn package arrived in the mail. I recording my unboxing of the yarn for you to watch.
Darn Good Yarn is so much more than your average yarn company. They strive everyday to positively impact everything they do, from sourcing their materials to hiring their artisans. One of their main goals is to support sustainable and fair jobs around the globe through ethical sourcing and work with producers and organizations that have similar goals.
They also focus on sourcing products and developing supply chains that benefit disadvantaged populations, including people and/or groups that face issues of gender, caste, racial discrimination. Another mission they are passionate about is recycling. You can read more here.
Darn Good Yarn offers handmade yarn, crafting supplies, kits and monthly subscription boxes as well as clothing and accessories such as sari and cotton wrap skirts. I think I am going to look more into the monthly yarn box next!
If you purchase their yarn or other products, make sure you tag them on social media to help spread their reach! Use these hashtags: #darngoodyarn, @darngoodyarn, #mydgy, #dodarngood.
Be on the look out for a crochet pattern or two to be released using this yarn. Darn Good Yarn supplied me with this yarn in exchange for an honest review and the use of their product in one of my projects. All opinions are my own.
