Puffy Pom Bookmark – FREE Crochet Pattern
I can’t believe it’s the fifth month of my Bookmark Bonanza CAL already! If you’re just joining us, welcome aboard. The Bookmark Bonanza is a year-long crochet-a-long where I’ll read a book a month (all sorts of genres so there’s something for everyone!) and crochet a unique bookmark alongside.
So far, I’ve released four patterns (and one bonus!) for the books Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks, This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty, and It Ends With Us. The bookmarks which correspond with these books are given below:
I know I have so many on the blog already that should keep you busy if you’re just starting off but if you want an ad-free PDF of all 12, you can grab a copy of the Bookmark Bonanza CAL Pattern Bundle. They each come with a video tutorial and a little book review and you can keep it around to make as many bookmarks as you want!
You can share your thoughts on the book of the month in both my Facebook group and CAL group on Ravelry and see how others are using their bookmarks. This month, I’ve paired my bookmark with this beautiful story of redemption and courage — The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.
This is my second Kate Quinn book read this year. I love all the research she puts in her books because you get to walk through historical events with the experiences of fictional characters.
1947. In the chaotic aftermath of World War II, American college girl Charlie St. Clair is pregnant, unmarried, and on the verge of being thrown out of her very proper family. She’s also nursing a desperate hope that her beloved cousin Rose, who disappeared in Nazi-occupied France during the war, might still be alive. So when Charlie’s parents banish her to Europe to have her “little problem” taken care of, Charlie breaks free and heads to London, determined to find out what happened to the cousin she loves like a sister.
1915. A year into the Great War, Eve Gardiner burns to join the fight against the Germans and unexpectedly gets her chance when she’s recruited to work as a spy. Sent into enemy-occupied France, she’s trained by the mesmerizing Lili, the “Queen of Spies”, who manages a vast network of secret agents right under the enemy’s nose.
Thirty years later, haunted by the betrayal that ultimately tore apart the Alice Network, Eve spends her days drunk and secluded in her crumbling London house. Until a young American barges in uttering a name Eve hasn’t heard in decades, and launches them both on a mission to find the truth…no matter where it leads.

More puff stitches?
I love how the puff stitch feels and looks in a project, adding just the right amount of texture and pop (literally!) of color. If you want to work on something bigger with this stitch, check out my Porch ’n Picnic Blanket.
