About the Yarn
The yarn I used for this pattern was given to me by Hobbii for use in their #iHEARTyou challenge for Valentines Day 2023.
I chose their Honey Bunny and Peacock yarns.
Both of these yarns are so soft and cuddly, I definitely think they would be great used for a pillow! Have you used it? What do you think?

Overlay Mosaic Crochet
Using BLOsc and FLOdc, you can create beauiful colorwork patterns using only one color per row/round. I have a whole blog post that discusses this method. Click here to read.
You may also watch my overlay mosaic tutorial video. The technique described is altered a bit for patterns worked in the round such as this one.
Please like this video, comment that you’re joining in while making the Mosaic Hearts Basket, and SUBSCRIBE to my channel.
Pattern Notes
- US Terminology
- Stitches between *asterisks* are repeated.
- Do not turn your work after each round.
- This pattern uses the overlay mosaic technique. If unfamiliar, be sure to watch my video tutorials. Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel, comment that you joined in from the Mosaic Hearts Basket, and like the videos. Thank you so much!
- Pattern is worked from right to left on Right Side only. (If you are left handed, feel free to work from left to right according to the chart below).
- After Round 9, each round is worked in alternating colors. Instead of fastening off after each round, I prefer to drop the yarn on the wrong side and pick it back up for next time.
- Every round begins switching to the next color as part of the sl st.
- Every round ends with slip st to the ch 1 from the beginning of the round as the “ending border stitch.”
- For the mosaic rounds, the SC are worked in BLO of previous row. DC are worked in FLO of the stitch 2 rows below, skipping the stitch behind.
- Each round begins with switching to the new color, then has a repeat of 12 stitches, and ends with a sl st.
- You may choose to adjust your basket to be wider or narrower. Make sure your Base is made up of any multiple of 6 stitches.
- The chart included is for the repeat of 12 sts (plus the color change & sl st)
- Please join the Juniper & Oakes Crochet Community FB Group and share pictures and questions that arise.
